The Fritz-Gerber Foundation supports talented young people. We built an online application form that significantly reduces the effort for both applicants and the foundation.

The Fritz-Gerber Foundation supports talented young people. Until recently, applying for funding meant doing it by post. Gathering documents, printing them, sending them in. For young applicants, a bureaucratic threshold. For the foundation, plenty of manual work, mostly because they had to chase up missing documents. The task was to bring this process online, without the foundation having to learn a new evaluation tool or database.
On the foundation’s application page, applicants can now fill in all the necessary details in a structured form, upload documents directly and submit their application. Required fields make sure nothing gets forgotten. After a security check, the completed applications land exactly where the foundation already works: in their existing folder structure. We adapted to their workflow rather than the other way around. No new tools, no learning curve, no added overhead. The form has been running since 2022 and is fine-tuned whenever new requirements come up.
The foundation no longer has to chase applicants for missing documents. Applications arrive complete and structured, right where they need to be reviewed. Lower threshold for applicants, less admin for the foundation. A small piece of automation with a noticeable impact.
