HuusFabrik is a young architecture studio that wanted to translate the traditional quoting process into a digital tool. Together with them, we developed the interactive fee calculator that is now the centrepiece of their website.

HuusFabrik are two architects with a clear idea. Architecture should become more accessible, including for smaller projects and for people who do not want to spend an hour on the phone just to find out what something costs. Until now, everything ran the classical way. An enquiry by email or phone, then a meeting, then a manually calculated quote. For clients, a high entry threshold. For HuusFabrik, plenty of manual work on enquiries that sometimes never went anywhere. The task was to translate this process into a digital tool that guides clients through the options on their own and, for smaller services, takes them straight to a booking.
We developed, refined and tested the fee calculator together with HuusFabrik over several iterations. The calculator guides clients through a series of questions that pin down what they actually need. Preliminary study, plans, assessment, interior. From there, concrete service packages emerge that the client can combine. If the result stays below a certain threshold, they can book directly. If it goes above, a structured enquiry goes to HuusFabrik, including all the relevant details. The real challenge was to map the pricing model and the branching service packages cleanly, without the user ever feeling the complexity behind it.
Today, HuusFabrik clients can reach a first estimate, a booking or a structured quote request in just a few clicks. The threshold for smaller services has dropped noticeably, while larger enquiries arrive at HuusFabrik pre-qualified and structured. What used to take phone calls and email exchanges now runs largely through the calculator. For the two architects, that means more time for what they actually want to do. Architecture.
